Though we do not want summer to end (how did it go by so fast?),
part of us is looking forward to all those little things that come with fall: the crispness in the air, layering sweaters and wearing leather jackets again, and swapping out our bright summer clothes and makeup for a moodier color palette.

Fall 2014 Nail Polish
When it comes to choosing fall nail colors, ELLE.com editors are creatures of habit. One editor wears a skin-matching nude polish year round, adjusting the shade ever-so-slightly with the changing seasons: “It makes me feel clean and grown up.” Another is committed to vampy crimson because it reminds her of high school: “Lucky for me the ’90s are cool.” For me, after a summer of super bright gel nails, the freedom of polish that wipes off without a salon removal system feels fresh.
